Protect your equipment with one of the world’s most advanced water softening systems!
Using the Culligan Smart Controller’s progressive flow feature, multiple water softener columns can be networked together and each column can be switched on and off according to the flow, allowing you to manage water usage peaks.
Reduce operating costs by up to 46% with patented technologies to optimize salt, water and electricity consumption.
- Multilingual, full-text display
- Easy to connect to remote display, building management systems, PLCs, etc.
- The optional modem connection can alert the Culligan control panel when salt is required or service is needed
- Upflow regeneration for increased efficiency
High strength FRP tanks are used up to 48” tank size, or steel tanks with food grade internal epoxy coating up to 120”.
Regenerate only when needed – using the optional internal probe (Aqua Sensor), regeneration can be activated only when the resin is nearing exhaustion.
Culligan water softening systems use high efficiency Cullex resin. The resin consists of highly porous, amber coloured, plastic beads which are covered with „exchange sites”. In the softening process, the sodium ions in the resin are exchanged for calcium and magnesium ions in the water, reducing the hardness of the water. When the resin is exhausted, it is regenerated with a brine solution and the softening process can start again.
The optional brine reclaim system recycles a portion of the reusable brine back into the salt tank during regeneration, saving up to 25% of salt consumption.
Long life salt tanks with corrosion resistant components, even with smart brine sensors.
Culligan’s line of water softeners is one of the most complete in the industry, meeting scale reduction needs at flow rates ranging from 1 to hundreds of cubic meters per hour.
With innovative technology such as Progressive Flow, Culligan Smart Controller, Brine Reclaim and Aqua-Sensor technologies (which also feature in the HE water softener models), Culligan water softening systems are among the most efficient and technologically advanced on the market.
Hard water is water that contains dissolved minerals, such as magnesium, iron, manganese, and most commonly calcium. Water naturally becomes harder as it passes through layers of soil into an aquifer or underground aquifer. Hard water is probably the most common problem found in municipal and well water supplies. Hard water can cause the build up of so-called scale (usually calcium carbonate, or more commonly known as limescale) in appliances and equipment that use water, but especially those that heat water, such as boilers, dishwashers, washing machines, cooling systems, etc. This can have a significant impact on energy consumption and efficiency.
Just 1 mm of scale in a hot water system can increase energy consumption by 7%. The most common and effective way to treat hard water is to use a water softener.
Culligan water softeners use Cullex® ion exchange resin, which acts on the specific ions that cause limescale, primarily calcium (Ca²+) and magnesium (Mg²+) ions. These ions are replaced by sodium ions.
When all the available sodium (Na+) ions have been replaced by calcium or magnesium ions, the resin needs to be „re-charged”, regenerated. During regeneration, the resin is washed with sodium chloride solution (brine solution) to remove Ca²+ and Mg²+ ions and the apparatus is ready for water softening again.
When the resin is exhausted, the device automatically starts a brine regeneration process to provide continuous soft water.
Some advantages for using soft water:
3-8,5 m³/h
Culligan HE1” and 1.5” water softeners feature patented technology that provides improved efficiency to reduce operating costs. Up to 36% more efficient than conventional time-controlled water softeners. The Culligan Smart Controller, available with the HE unit, allows customers to monitor the water treatment systems performance, consumables usage and maintenance needs 24 hours a day, across one or more sites.
Culligan HE water softeners are available in Up-Flow, Down-Flow or Progressive-Flow configurations.
4-18 m³/h
Culligan’s CTM water softeners have a number of product features that make them ideal for light-duty commercial applications in hotels, hospitality, institutions, and other light industrial applications. The units are available in single and multi-tank configurations. The softener is equipped with the GBE smart controller, which supports a wide range of advanced instrumentation and communication accessories.
18-34 m³/h
Ideal for small to medium sized industrial applications, the Culligan Ultra-Line HA water softener tanks are manufactured from highly resistant carbon steel with a food grade internal epoxy coating to resist corrosion. Thanks to the Culligan controller, the system is fully automatic. Regenerating can be adjusted according to the user’s needs, based on time, quantity and water quality.
Designed for large water softening applications, Culligan Ultra-Line HB water softeners are capable of softening water, up to a flow rate of 227 m³/h. The tanks have a heavy-duty carbon steel construction and an internal epoxy coating for long service life. Fully automated and precise, Culligan uses exclusive diaphragm valves. The Ultra-Line HB water softener is the ideal choice for high volume water softening applications.
